Africa CDC African Epidemic Services – Epidemiology Fellowship 2026

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) is accepting applications for the African Epidemic Services – Epidemiology Track. This is a full-time, two-year applied epidemiology training program designed for mid-level public health professionals across African Union Member States. The fellowship includes: • 3 months of in-person training in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia • 21 months of applied field training in an African Union Member State • Training in data analysis, surveillance system evaluation, outbreak investigation and other public health activities • Travel-related costs, stipends, hardware, software, health insurance, and learning materials covered by Africa CDC Eligibility includes: • Citizen of an African Union Member State • Under 35 years old • Currently employed in an African country • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public health, medicine, nursing, veterinary medicine, environmental sciences, One Health or a related field • At least 3 years of recent postgraduate public health experience • Coursework in epidemiology or quantitative research methods and biostatistics • Proficiency in at least one AU official language Applicants must also provide an employer/government support letter, two professional recommendation letters, degree certificates and transcripts, an AU-format CV, and a motivation statement.
